Hi, I’m from Michigan and will be in Wiscasset, Maine picking up my daughter from school mid-May ’16. I’m looking for routes near Wiscasset that are 60-70 miles in length with a fair amount of hills. My goal is to compete in the National 24 Hour Challenge Father’s Day weekend and would like to use this road trip as a chance to train on new roads with lots of hills; southwest Michigan is fairly flat when compared to out east.
We are located in Southern Maine and don’t regularly ride the roads in Wiscasset. I have however ridden the Tour de Farms 100 mile ride, a benefit for the Morris Farms Education Center. It was challenging. As a friend said, you don’t need a rear derailleur to ride it, just keep shifting between the big chainring and the small chainring, as you are either going up or down. The Morris Farms may have some cue sheets, otherwise navigate to cowshit corner, then head down to Pemaquid Point and back.
