Really hope that you are all well.
My partner Sue and I live in England. We are very keen cyclists. On the 21st May 2016, Sue and I fly into Bangor International. We are going to complete the entire Atlantic Coast route finishing at Key West on the 2nd July 2016. In 2013, I cycled with a work colleague from Oregon to Virginia completing the TransAm, it was a fabulous experience and we are really keen to visit the USA again.
We will run a blog which will be on the CrazyGuy site http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/mikerogers.
A mega-favour if I may? Thanks to a change in flight times, we arrive at Bangor at 1719hrs on the 21st. My logistical issues is that I need to get to Bar Harbor to start cycling (hopefully on the Sunday) and need to get the bikes unpacked and set-up. Sue will be completing the trip on a racer, I will be on a Dawes touer with the panniers!
So my questions are as follows- what is the best way to get from the airport to Bar Harbor? I don’t want to lug pedal wrenches 2600miles down to Florida so could anyone recommend a good cycle shop in Ellsworth or Bar Harbor please? Lastly, and this is being very cheeky, would anyone be willing to offer us a little accommodation on the Saturday night to get us started?
We would of course be delighted if anyone would like to join us on the first day of cycling- that would be excellent.
Any help would be truly truly appreciated and would get Sue and I off to a great start.

Sorry for the late reply. The club is located about a 4 hour drive southwest of Bar Harbor, so we aren’t local experts and could not help with overnight accommodations.
There is at least one bike shop in Bar Harbor, the Bar Harbor Bike Shop, which I believe is a reputable outfit.
As far as transportation, there is a bus service from the Bangor Airport to Bar Harbor, Downeast Transportation http://www.downeasttrans.org/index.htm.
Good luck with the trip, I hope all goes well.
